In honour of 30 years of leadership by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman, a Sultanate of Oman Week and Exhibition is being held in Brussels from 17 to 22 October (exhibition lasts until 29 October). The following is the programme for the symposium at the European parliament on "Oman: Bridging the Difference" held on Thursday, 19 October 2000, 9:00 - 12:30 hours, at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. The focus is on Oman's strategic importance and on the role of women in Oman's culture, society and politics.
