In the Gulf level, Saudi and UAE teams are the best in soccer (world-cup
level). Oman has not been doing so well although the government support for
sport clubs that spread all over the country. There are many sport centers
in all major towns of Oman. Why are not they good? I do not know myself!
Truely, there is no relationship between Islam and being not good at
sports. Moreover, the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) encouraged parents to teach
their children sports with special attention to horse ride, swimming, and
darts(?). Many 'Ahadeeth' reported on this topic.
As Mutarjem mentioned, they're probably still at early stage, in the future
we hope to see some professionals in all sports. Until then, you may want
