And I'm just reading Jan Morris' account of travelling with the
former Sultan in the mid-1950's. It's an extremely vivid account so
far, especially his/her description of life at that time in Dhofar
and Salalah. If only there were photos taken. Does anyone know if
the original cloth edition did include photographs. Or any other
sources of photos of the Qara tribesmen she/he descriibes so
interestingly?
Cheers
