You CAN'T leave legally by road from Oman to Yemen. I once did it by 4WD via
the Empty Quarter, but we were cought by a Yemeni police or military patrol
and we were very lucky to get away and back into Oman. DON'T try it.

You can leave Salalah by sea with any merchant vessel or Dhow - but, I'm not
so sure you will be able to disembark in Yemen.

My advice: EXTEND YOUR STAY IN OMAN! You can spend a life time exploring it,
and YOU'RE SAFE THERE!!!!! I'm sure you don't have to be told how dangerous
it can be if you end up at the wrong place in Yemen.

If you really insist going to Yemen by road you have to do it via Saudi
Arabia which I did in 1984 - Jizan to Hodeida.
Flying is cheapest from Dubai and I will check the prices for you as a
friend of mine is flying Dubai-Sana once a month.
