Thanks for the info. You know this "Future Cities" business is really
catching fire. See <www.ifremer.fr/oceans98/> re the "Oceans '98"
Conference later this year. It is focused on the development of
economically self-sufficient shoreline or floating habitats. Sponsors are
the IEEE and European Union of Marine and Science Technologies.
Now, if such habitats can be built anywhere on the seas they can be built
in the most foreboding deserts if we apply the best of technology there too.
Saudi Arabia built a totally new high tech city called Jubail. How about
such a city for Oman, a "New Ubar" if you will.?
