The Muscat Capital area is modern and cosmopolitan.
Designer labels and branded ware is available from all over
the world. Most of the bookshops sell Arabic books. There
is a chain of shops with a good supply of English books. A
kind American runs an excellent second hand book shop -
he'll even buy the books back from you when you've read
them.

Medinat Al Sultan Qaboos is an ex-pat centre, which (for
those who want it) shields you from most things Omani! It
is sometimes difficult for me to understand why people use
it so much - personally, I prefer to experience the
non-ex-pat Oman!!

Your favourite food is pretty well bound to be available.
The main supermarkets have a pork room. Alcohol is
available to non-Muslims.

There is, thank goodness, and awful lot to do here other
than sport and shopping.

Toodle pip!!
