Hi everyone,
I've just found this site, it seams all very exciting to me. I moved to Oman
when I was 4 years old (1980ish) and went to Muscat English Speaking School.
My father was an Engineer at Cansult to begin with when with lived in
Mutrah, then later moved to the MOD engineering department, and so from then
on with lived on MAM camp. We left Oman when I was 11 (1988ish) and
eventually ending up in England. This was a big culture shock for me and now
that I am 25, I am only now realising how much I miss Oman and don't feel at
home in England, especially when the weather is bad. I still haven't gotten
used to the sea being so cold!
I've heard its changed some since I left, and I've had little to no contact
with anyone I knew when growing up. All I've had to remind me of my
childhood is to look at photos and go over and over old stories with my
parents and older brother. I know the best idea is to go out on a holiday to
look around and recognise things, somedays I'm desparate to just walk and
look for shells on one of beaches we used to go to.
What would be ideal though, would be to be able to get incontact with people
I grew up with, or went to school with. So if theres any of you out there
please get in contact!
thanks Craig
