Craig's and David's messages are not only striking examples of how much
expats, having lived in Oman, are fascinated by the country and how deeply
they remain attached to it. They also remind me of how MANY expats have
lived in and experienced Oman over the past 50 years. I would like to draw
your attention to some websites about Masirah island which illustrate that
this "remote" island has been a provisional home for many expats over the
past sixty (!) years:

Has anyone already seen Colin Richardson's recent book "Masirah: Tales from
a desert island" (ISBN 1858218012) and could comment upon it?

PS: I a copying this OMAN-L posting to some people who have been living
on Masirah island - maybe one or another is interested in joining this
mailing list. If so, use the URL below for joining.
