That's right Kirstin. Single females will not get a transit visa through
Saudi Arabia, especially travelling with a man they are not married to.
The only way to get a transit visa for a woman is to travel with her
husband - and then it's dead simple to get one. So I would recommend you to
have a mail travel partner and get a fake marriage licence. Saudi is indeed
a very interesting place to travel in. You usually get 72 hrs transit visa,
but who cares - nobody bothers you if you exit the country a few days later.
My last trip through Saudi was April 1997 travelling from Oman to Europe.
Hufuf-Dhahran-Riyadh-Najran-Jeddah-Yanbu-Madain Saleh,and with a transit
visa there was no problem at all to pass through all the check points. We
stayed 10 days instead of the 3 permitted, and nobody cared at the
borderpoint to Akaba.
I really recommend that tour.
