[Oman-L] Dhows under sail

Dear Sue;

Yes; in Dubai there are considerable number of active Dhows. Many are 
equiped with sails for emergency usage. They provide steady commercial 
routes to Iran, Yemen, Somalia, and Karachi... I believe they manage more 
than 30% of Dubia's re-exporting trading.
Also, there are racing events for Dhows, which get support from government 
and concerned communities.

I can send you some photos of these Dhows if you want..
