During our trip in Oman in the winter of 1998, we
have seen the construction of dhows in Sur. In the
harbour, several dhows were in the making with the
traditional techniques : no machines at all and
several men working under the direction of a
maitre-d'=9Cuvre dresses in a immaculate white
disdasha. Images taken during the several trips
made in Oman by my travelling companion Candide
Simard are on the website www.stoat.demon.co.uk.
Actually, the dhows under construction are not in
this show but could be obtained from her.
