[Oman-L] Major Chauncey

I am writing a book about the life of Sultan Said bin Taimur and am trying 
to find out more about Major Chauncey who I believe was his personal 
adviser. Can anyone please provide me with more information about Chauncey. 
Was he his personal adviser and if so for how long ? If he was a Major did 
he only provide military advice ? For how long and when did he work as his 
adviser etc. ?

In particular did Chauncey publish anything about his experiences with the 
Sultan ?
