[Oman-L] Oman's GDP rises by 41% in 2008

Oman's gross domestic product surged by 41 per cent last year, standing at 22.3 billion rials as compared to 15.7 billion rials in 2007. 

Official figures published by the Ministry of National Economy in its last monthly bulletin showed a growth in most basic economic indicators during the past four years. 

GDP over the last four years registered a steady growth from 11.5 billion rials in 2005, 13.8 billion rials in 2006, 15.7 billion rials in 2007, to 22.3 billion rials in 2008. Last year, government revenues increased to 7.6 billion rials as against 5.9 billion rials in 2007.
