Position Openings at the World Learning Oman Center:
1) Student Affairs Coordinator: Will have primary responsibility for student health and welfare, student housing and homestay, crisis management, non-academic issues and extra-curricular activities, and developing and maintaining a culture of respect and responsibility among all members of the institutional community. Has supervisory responsibilities. Requires on-call work on nights and weekends in the event of emergencies, and occasional travel.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in counseling/psychology/sociology or student affairs (Master’s degree preferrred).
Must have work or educational experience in an American university setting.
Must be a team player and possess excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
Must be computer literate.
Must have driver’s license and car.
Should possess superior English and Arabic communication skills.
Strong ties to local community preferred.
Start date: August 1, 2009

2) Arabic Language Instructor: Seeking an Omani teacher of Arabic as a foreign language to join our language staff. Will teach full time (15 hours weekly of college level courses), as well as hold office hours, attend staff meetings and prepare lessons/grade homework outside of those hours. This is a full time position, and classes may be morning, afternoon or evening. Requires occasional travel.
Required qualifications:
Must have a bachelor’s degree in appropriate field
Must have training and experience teaching a foreign language
Must be a team player and possess excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
Must have Omani nationality.
Experience in an American university setting preferred.
Start date: September 1, 2009
