German and International Research on Oman 1999 took place in Bonn on 2nd and 3rd July 1999. Again, the aim of the conference was to provide a forum to present current research on Oman in various disciplines as well as the results of recently concluded research projects on Oman. The conference was convened by a Steering Commitee and organized by the Oman Studies Centre, with the support of the German-Omani Association, Detecon and Beta Publishing. It will again take place at DETECON's Conference Center in Bonn-Ramersdorf.

The conference was held on Friday (afternoon) and Saturday (whole day). Conference languages were English and German. The conference papers will probably be published in late 1999 or early 2000.
