Lecture on "Zanzibar and the Germans: German interests and diplomacy from 1844-1965", by Dr. Heinz Schneppen, former German Ambassador to Tanzania.

In this lecture, Dr.Schneppen deals with the involvement and interests of German
merchants, missionaries, and consuls during the sultan's rule in Zanzibar. In the second part, he presents new evidence on the relationship between East
and West Germany and the island.
October 1997: 7th German Omani Joint Economic Commission meeting
The German-Omani Joint Economic Commission is due to meet in Muscat in October 1997 (probably 25-26 Oct 1997) under the presidency of H.H. Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said and State Secretary Dr. Schomerus.
